Place Views On Sheets
Place selected views onto sheets with consistent alignment and spacing — no manual dragging.
When to use it
After creating views in bulk, or whenever a set of views needs to land on sheets in a predictable grid.
Add the task
Open the task queue and add Place Views On Sheets.
Select views and sheets
Pick the views to place (filter by type, level or naming pattern) and the target sheets — existing sheets or sheets created earlier in the same queue.
Choose the layout
Set the packing rule: one view per sheet, or a grid with row/column spacing. SDW respects each view's scale and crop when computing what fits.
Run and review
Run the queue and open any target sheet — viewports are aligned to the layout you configured. Move any single viewport manually afterwards without affecting the rest.
Tips
- Consistent crop regions produce the cleanest grids — crop first, place second.
- Viewport titles come from the viewport type; set your default viewport type before the run.
