Analytics & Telemetry Policy

Last updated July 4, 2026

This page describes exactly what the BimOra website and the BimOra SDW plugin send to our servers, so you can evaluate the Software for your company's compliance requirements. It supplements the Privacy Policy.

1. Website analytics

The website records standard server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. Sign-in uses strictly necessary cookies only. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

2. Plugin licensing telemetry (required)

To enforce licensing, the plugin sends to BimOra's servers:

  • your account email (at sign-in) and the resulting access token;
  • license key, hashed device identifier and device name (at activation);
  • session heartbeats (session token + timestamp, roughly every 5 minutes while running);
  • plugin version (at the update check on startup).

This telemetry is required for the Software to run online; it exists to provide the one-active-session guarantee and force-update security policy. For air-gapped machines, use offline license files instead — the only data exchanged is when you download the file.

3. Product usage analytics (minimal)

We may record which task types are run (e.g. "create sheets", "tag views") together with counts and durations — never model content, file names, project names or geometry. We use this solely to prioritize product development.

4. Crash & error reports

If the plugin encounters an error, it may send the exception message, stack trace, plugin and Revit version. Crash reports never include model contents. Review them before submitting if your organization requires it.

5. What we never collect

  • Revit models, families, schedules or any project geometry/data
  • File names, file paths or project names
  • Keystrokes, screenshots or clipboard content

6. Retention & access

Licensing telemetry is kept while your license is active plus a fraud-prevention window. Usage analytics are aggregated and de-identified. Access is restricted to BimOra staff who operate the licensing service.

7. Choices

Online licensing telemetry cannot be disabled while using online activation. For usage analytics and crash reports, contact us via the Contact page to opt out at the organization level or to request deletion of collected data.
