Create Sheets
Generate any number of sheets in one run — numbered, named and using the title block you choose.
When to use it
Project setup, when you need dozens or hundreds of sheets that follow a naming and numbering standard, or when the sheet list lives in a spreadsheet maintained outside Revit.
Add the task
Open the SDW tab, open the task queue and add Create Sheets.
Choose the source
- Rules — define a number pattern (prefix, start number, increment) and a name pattern. SDW previews the full list before anything is created.
- Spreadsheet — pick an Excel/CSV file with columns for sheet number, sheet name and (optionally) title block. Each row becomes one sheet.
Pick the title block
Select the title block family and type to apply to every sheet, or map a title block per row when importing from a spreadsheet.
Review and run
The preview grid shows every sheet that will be created. Duplicate numbers are flagged before the run, not after. Click Run — sheets appear in the Project Browser as the queue processes.
Tips
- Run on a small range first to confirm your numbering pattern.
- Combine with Place Views On Sheets in the same queue to go from empty project to laid-out sheets in one pass.
